Student Counseling and Orientation

Central Student Counseling and Orientation ZSB

The Zentrale Studienorientierung und -beratung (ZSB) deals with all general, non-subject-related questions about studying. The employees of the ZSB help pupils and other prospective students with their choice of study. They advise students of all semesters in case of learning or working difficulties, in case of a change of university or study program, support the planning of a study abroad program or semester and also try to help with financial problems, family difficulties, contact difficulties or identity problems.

Information on the telephone consultation hours of the Central Student Counseling and Orientation (ZSB) as well as information on how to make an individual counseling appointment can be found on the ZSB website at Counseling. Counseling sessions are available by phone, chat, video, or in person.

The ZSB also regularly publishes its own publications. These include study information on all degree programs, publications on studying in Darmstadt, and orientation aids (very useful not only for first-semester students!).

Student advisory service of the etit department

If you have subject-related questions about your studies, you can contact the Student Advisory Service of the Department. There is a person responsible for each subject who can help you. The Student Advisory Service also organizes orientation events, such as the introductory event for first-year students of the Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics programs. An orientation event on the choice of specialization in electrical engineering, Wi-ETiT and mechatronics is also offered in the third (etit) or fifth (MEC) semester.
